De Cactus of the Four Winds (Echinopsis lageniformis forma quadricostata), Bolivian torch, is een extreem zeldzame, vierribbige cactus, die in de bergen van Bolivia kan worden gevonden. De lokale bevolking, die de naam Achuma of Wuchuma gebruikt, beschouwt deze cactus als heilig en de effecten zijn krachtiger dan de San Pedro of Peruvian torch. We hebben diverse maten in voorraad.
Cactus of the Four Winds (Echinopsis lageniformis forma quadricostata)
De heilige, vierribbige Cactus of the Four Winds, door de lokale bevolking Achuma of Wachuma genoemd, wordt net als het klavertje vier als extreem zeldzaam beschouwd. Het verhaal gaat dat deze cactus speciale, genezende krachten bezit, die tot uiting komen in de vier ribben, die staan voor "vier windstreken" of "vier wegen", vertegenwoordigers van de kosmische as die de verschillende werelden verbindt waar de Sjamaan tijdens visioenen en trances doorheen reist.
Geloofd wordt dat de heilige Cactus of the Four Winds misschien wel de belangrijkste bron van religieuze impuls was in de oude culturen in de Andes regio. Er is een legende de vinder van de heilige, vierribbige cactus een geweldige sjamaan was of er een zou worden.
MESCALINE
Verschillende cactusrassen kunnen mogelijk groeien als de zeer zeldzame en gewilde Cactus of the Four Winds met de karakteristieke vier ribben, met inbegrip van de San Pedro cactus (San Pedro-cactus) of de Peruvian torch (Echinopsis peruviana). Onze Cactus of the Four Winds, Echinopsis lageniformis forma quadricostata, is de Bolivian torch variant en het wordt aangenomen dat dit de meest krachtige is onder de heilige cactussen, met het hoogste percentage mescaline.
HET KWEKEN VAN DE CACTUS OF THE FOUR WINDS
De door ons aangeboden stekjes zijn afkomstig van buitengewoon gezonde en sterke cactussen, waardoor ze eenvoudig thuis kunnen worden gekweekt. De kweekmethode van de Cactus of the Four Winds komt overeen met die van onze Bolivian torch cactus. Je hoeft alleen maar te weten dat je speciale cactusaarde nodig hebt, verkrijgbaar in elk goed gesorteerd tuincentrum. Houd er rekening mee dat cactussen woestijnplanten zijn, wat betekent dat je ze in goed drainerende potten moet plaatsen, die je op een ondiep blad zet en slechts af en toe vanaf de bodem water geeft. In het koudere seizoen, kan de cactus met gemak 2-3 weken zonder water, terwijl je in de hetere maanden van de zomer soms wel iedere week water moet geven.
Als je een stekje ontvangt van Cactus of the Four Winds, moet je deze allereerst ongeveer vier weken in de schaduw zetten, zodat de cactus wortels kan ontwikkelen en gewend kan raken aan de nieuwe omgeving. De eerste 2-3 weken hoef je geen water te geven.

Wonderful cactus, I ordered twins but those twins were unexpectedly dizygotic..
Let me start of positive by saying that this is one magnificent cactus, and I appreciate it very much that Zamnesia sells them, as they're surely very hard to find in other smartshops (if you can find them at all).
I only bought this one once, got really excited when they were available again, and didn't hesitate to order 2 at once before they'd run out. Just for the record: in every way I fully understand that these products are natural organisms, and they are by no means supposed to look as though they've been produced by artificial cloning. However, the ones I got took their diversity to very high extremes; one of them was all wrinkled like a senior, and appeared rather ill with grey marks on all sides (the thorns were strikingly thicker and much longer than the 2nd one as well). This while the 2nd one looked extremely full, green, & healthy.
As they are relatively high-priced, I found this degree of discrepancy a bit disappointing, and feel sad that I can't include pictures in the review. Matter of fact, I'm even not too sure if they are both the same type of cactus, but as luck would have it, I have zero objections against testing this hypothesis some time soon :D.
One general con for all Zamnesia cacti, except the thorn-less Peyote and the Bolivian Monstrose, is that they come wrapped in some thin paper only (I'm pretty sure the employees must be having a harder time with it than we do). It's quite a hassle to get them out of the paper as the paper keeps the thorns hidden (they can even penetrate my thick-skinned oven gloves). Most smartshops roll them in thicker cardboard, which also adds convenience if you cut the upper half of the cardboard off, and leave the lower half as a safe grip. This enables you to take your plant with you to any room, so you can bond with it without any complications :D.

Zierlicher Kaktus
Sehr abstraktes Aussehen und schon ganze 12cm hoch als er ankam. Ich hoffe die Bewurzelung klappt. Bin mit ihm sowie mit den anderen Stecklingen von Zamnesia sehr zufrieden.

I ordered three little ones, ate the middle big one (not much to say about visuals, but now, afterwards i feel like i met an old teacher) and planted the other two, one of em was a bit smaller but wider and the other taller and thinner. Both of them rooted and I'm waiting for spring to re pot them to see how big I can get them.
